Second DBAccess Workshops

For the second year in a row, the DBAccess team paused its day to day activities and gathered at the DBAccess workshops to celebrate the achievements from 2004 and to plan those for 2005.

Merida’s La Pedregosa hotel was the meeting grounds where attendants congregated for three days. During that time, different activities were carried out, such as important talks by Directors and Managers, planning workshops and activities, etc.As a result, the whole DBAccess team came out better aligned about goals and strategic initiatives.

Besides the planning work, the DBAccess team had a chance to mingle, get better acquainted, and share some quality time within the Hotel grounds. The closing of the workshops was anchored by the year’s end Holiday Dinner, which also included a gift exchange ceremony.A special nod to the organizing team for their attention to detail which allowed these workshops to run smoothly and ensured a good time for all involved.

And now, let’s get ready for 2005! We’ll meet again at the Third DBAccess Workshops!

Defining IT perspectives in Venezuela

Within an interesting forum organized by the Venezuelan Chamber of IT Companies, DBAccess was invited to elaborate on the perspectives for the software and IT services industry in Venezuela for 2005.

DBAccess Marketing Director Hernando Soto showed our company’s vision about the sector’s immediate future, highlighting an important growth spurt spurred by state open source software policies, the opening of the PDVSA contract market and some other events to take place in Venezuela in 2005.

Present at IBM’s “PARTNERING WITH PARTNERS”

Raul Da Silva and Karla Mendia were DBAccess’s fronting representation in attending IBM’s “PARTNERING WITH PARTNERS”. The event’s goal was to deepen mutual knowledge and foster alliances among fellow influencers and business partners.

Our representation—located in the stands area—took advantage of its position and shared ideas with various managers from this important technology company, establishing significant contacts that will allow us to tackle business opportunities in the national market.

Open-Source Software Workshop

Within the Second DBAccess Workshops in Merida, the DBAccess team participated on an interesting review of the book “Software Libre: Uso y desarrollo en la administración pública venezolana (Open-source software: Uses and development within the public administration in Venezuela)”.

Attendees got to know the initiatives and tendencies shown by the Venezuelan Government on this relevant issue. They also got to express their opinion and proposed courses of action for DBAccess’ performance within the national landscape.
